1.) Purpose

Purpose gives rise to an action. A motive, a principle, belief and hope. It answers the question “Why are we really doing this?” Purpose provides feeling of belonging, sense of responsibility and loyalty, peer pressure to perform and a catalyst for action.
If you don’t know the purpose, then your first purpose is to get a purpose.
Start today. Take one step at a time. Knowing your reason for wanting success, developing your “WHY" or purpose, is the first step. Your “WHY" will inspire you to remain focused and will move you into action. Without a “WHY" there is no hope.

2.) Planning
Building MLM business is like building a house. You must first put in a solid foundation before you put up the walls and add a roof. You have to plan to determine what it will take to lay each block of the foundation. Building on a firm foundation will allow you to build your business with precision and almost to a Science.
Establish a pattern for success
We know the “WHY” and “What to accomplish” now. Lets go one step ahead and plan “HOW to Accomplish” it. Success isn't something you just arrive at one day. It is something that you have set in stone, a milestone of sorts that once you reach it you have obtained Success. No matter what your definition of success is, one thing is for sure, without a plan you will never achieve any measurable success. Remember “No one “Plans To Fail”, they only “Fail To Plan”
You are looking at a business model that will take 2 to 3 years to produce the kind of results you’re looking for. So don’t give up your occupation just yet. Just like any job or occupation, you require training. It does not take years or cost thousands of Rupees, but you do need to learn some new things. Of course, you will “Earn As You Learn,” but it’s still a good idea to consider your first year as a learning experience. For the average HLN consultant, working 10 to 15 hours a week, a one-year commitment is a realistic approach. We believe that if you follow SYNERGY ’s duplicatable system for that time, you will be so pleased with the results that you will be doing HLN business for the rest of your life!
Setting Incremental Goals
We must learn how to distinguish between long term and short term goals. Be honest and realistic about the amount of time and efforts associated with achieving your goals. Are your objectives worthy of the temporary sacrifices? Only you can determine that.
Put your long term goals in writing and keep these goals in front of you. Keep in mind that having your goals in writing will not magically grow your business, you must take action to build your business. The achievement of your goals and dreams requires work. Many people set lofty goals, then they sit and wait for it to happen. Success does not happen that way. It calls for a definite plan, timetable, discipline and perseverance.
It is also important to set little goals that will take you step by step to the ultimate definition of success. This can be enrolling 2 new people a month or sharing information with 10 new people a week or just approaching with 2 new people a day about the idea of a home business. What ever it is, set incremental goals that will drive you to your Success. You know what you’re headed for, what you’re going to accomplish every day, week, and month; and when you are going to do it.
Start working from a 90 day “Plan Of Action”. Forecasting is difficult, especially in long term planning, it is best to work consistently from a short term plan at a time. This allows us to be flexible and to make changes.
By the time you are 60 days through the plan, you should begin developing the next 90 day plan. This approach to planning and forecasting will ensure you are working in the present.
Using an individualised plan of action, is the first step in how you build your business “By Design” rather than “By Chance”. Be willing to do what it really takes to succeed. Equally important, always track your progress and adjust your plan accordingly. Stay in contact with your sponsor for support.
Sometimes, things will not go according to your plan. That is ok. we all face challenges and failures on the journey to success. Use them as a learning experience and as a stepping stone toward your success. If you are not achieving the results you want, get in touch with your sponsor to discuss the situation. Also, share your weekly progress with them. regular coaching will help you move forward. Remember, You Are Not Alone In Business, your sponsor and SYNERGY leaders have a vested interest in your success.
Schedule Your Working hours
This is a business of your word and a business of appointments. To build effectively, you must schedule your time in the manner that best suits building your business. Every day is a new start of your future, learn to make the most of it. To change your life and what you’re getting out of it, you must change the way you’re using your 24 hours.
Work closely with your sponsor to determine how to schedule your 10 to 15 hours for the first few weeks of your business. Find out the dates of all upcoming events so you can schedule your work and other obligations around them. These events are critical to your success, make sure you’re there. We often hear people say that they just don't have time. Well the fact is we all have the same amount of time. It's just how you use it. In preparing to do a business you have to set 'Store Hours'. This is the time that you will spend working your new business. Will it be 2-6 hrs a week? 6-10? 10-15? Or more then 15 hours? Also, when will you spend those hours? On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for 2 hours a day sounds good. And when on those days will you work? From 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM is fine.
Learn the Basic Company Procedures
To be independent, and proactively build your business, you must be able to operate without your sponsor’s assistance for day-to-day minor matters as soon as possible. That means learning some of the basic company procedures as soon as you can. Set aside a few hours quiet time to read your entire consultant kit. Learn which sections to go to for specific information and familiarise yourself with the forms. Study the rules and regulations and learn the code of ethics.
Order Your Business Cards
If you’re in business, people expect you to have a business card. Check with your sponsor for the style of card you need and where to order it.
3.) Personal Use
Be a 100% User Use All of the Products
Paul Zane Pilsner a renowned economist and author of New York Times Best sellers such as 'Unlimited Wealth' and 'The Next Trillion Dollar' describes Network Marketing as Intellectual Distribution educating consumers about products and services that will improve their lives, products, and services that they didn't already know existed. Network Marketing requires one important criteria-that is to be a product user oneself and then promote the products based on ones own benefits and convictions, unlike conventional marketing where many of the products are never used by a person promoting them.
That means that if your company has a product, you would never buy a competing product for any reason. A “Brand X” product purchase takes money out of your business and puts it in someone else’s. This kind of practice will put you out of business quickly. One should never buy “Brand X,” regardless of sales, convenience or any other reason. It’s simply bad business. You must use all of your company’s products that apply to you and be able to talk knowledgeably and enthusiastically about them, to effectively build your business.
Develop A Consumer Group
Your business is driven by the volume produced by sales to the end consumer. A great deal of those sales will be to consultants who “buy for their own use.” Also, there are many other people who will benefit from your products, but are not interested in building a business at this time. These people will become your consumer group.
It’s critical that you develop this consumer group. This is good business, because you service the people who aren’t consultants. You earn immediate profit; develop consistent income from regular customers. You also build personal group volume, which can keep you qualified to earn many other lucrative bonuses and incentives.
It’s a good goal if you’re starting out to develop a base of at least 20 customers.
You are an example of your product, a walking, talking testimonial. It’s your job to show and tell prospective buyers the benefits you have reaped by using the product. For instance if you used a health care product let people see you looking healthy and confident.
TIP: Please don’t go out trying to only “sell products” first and then attempt to sneak the business in the back door. Present the whole program, business and products, and let the prospect decide. Get your retail customer base, from the people who choose not to participate in the business.
4.) Prospecting
The engine that drives successful HLN business is prospecting. It is the single greatest activity that you MUST do if you are serious about building a successful organisation. These tips on “Prospecting" will make the process a little easier for you. You might just find making calls enjoyable once you understand how to play the game. So, if we have to prospect to build a successful business, we might as well get good at it. Right?
Make a list of all the people you know.
So, what is the ultimate Prospecting tool? It's "THE LIST." Yes, your personal contact list is the most vital asset you can use to build your HLN business with posture. The list is the fuel for your business. So, don't even think of starting off without a full tank!
You can be guaranteed that out of every random list of 100, there are at least 2 or 3 star performers just waiting for you to discover and develop them. And, probably 20 or 30 more people who will do the business on a smaller level. Now, here's how posture enters into this. When you have plenty of people to talk to you don't feel desperate. A prospect can sense when you "need them." And it's that "neediness" that turns them off and makes them react negatively towards your offer.
When you have a lot of people to talk to about your networking business, you tend to have much more confidence and, as a result, much more posture. This gives you control over the situation and your destiny. Knowing that your success doesn't rest with any one person (except the one you see in the mirror) gives you an incredible edge. When you have an abundance of people to share your business with, you'll stand powerfully with people, knowing you don't need them, THEY NEED YOU. You'll actually look forward to bumping into a negative jerk because you get to tell them you're sorry but they don't qualify to work with you.
You know, when someone gets married they worry that they can only invite 1,000 people to their wedding. Did you know that according to Readers Digest, the average 21 year old can recall the names of over 500 people? So, will you have difficulty in making a list of 100?Two reasons. First, because not everyone you write on your list will be a star performer. Second, because if you have yet to develop your Posture Power you have the tendency to feel that people will think less of you. Realise the fact that you give an incredible gift e when you offer your business to a prospect, you automatically put yourself in a place of strength, where you feel like you've got to talk people into doing something that is in their best interest. What if you looked at your prospect list through a different set of glasses.Here's what I mean... how many names could you come up with if you knew beyond a shadow of doubt that every name you wrote down would be worth Rupees 1000 a month to you for the rest of your life? So... don't think, just write!!! Have some fun with it. Get excited! You're about to change your life forever... and...more importantly, change the life of every person you choose to help by introducing them to your business. The feeling you get when you know, that because of you, someone else's life will never be the same is an awesome feeling. Try it, you'll see.
Individual way of prospecting people
Network Marketing means different things for different people. It generally sorts people into three categories.
Category A For majority people, means being part of the community simply to get ace quality products at a discount.
Category B, For some people, means generating a second stream of income. A Family which has all the money they need for current use and savings for retirement is rare to find.
Category C, And finally for a small percentage, means that HLN is vehicle that can make big dreams come true and Change Lifestyle. Big cheques, new cars, new homes, cruises , travel , the nice things that working class people dream of but rarely experience.
Make At Least One Prospecting Call Each Day
The first prospecting call is always the most difficult to make. It doesn't matter if you've been doing it for 15 days or 15 years. The best way to overcome the challenge of making calls altogether is to decide to make that first difficult call...no matter what. Here's why that is so important:
You will find that most of the time the first call was not as difficult as you imagined and that alone may inspire you to make another one. If you do, you will discover that the second call will be even easier. If you get discouraged and want to stop, no problem, you always have that as an option. But, you must always make that one single call every day and then decide if you're going to continue making calls that day or not.

The Objective Of The Prospecting Call
What good is making calls if you don't know specifically what you want your prospects to do? Most people make calls hoping something good will happen but they don't have a clear picture of what that is.
First objective is Learning about a Prospect , Getting information about prospects current occupation, family and lifestyle. This will help you separate out Qualifying good prospects from Not-so-good or poor prospects.
Second objective and the ideal result of a prospecting call is to get a qualified appointment. If that's not possible on the first call, the next best bet is to get them to take some kind of positive action. It might be to get them to listen to a teleconference message, view a movie at SYNERGY” s website, agree to a three-way call or receive a package from you. Whatever.
The important thing to remember is to know about several ways you can “Navigate" your prospect to go to the next step after they have identified themselves as a qualified prospect.
The Best Time
The best time to make prospecting calls is the first hour of your workday regardless of when you start. Why? Because your head will be clear and you’ll be more likely to make them. After hours of cluttering your mind, it’s very difficult to pick up that phone and start dialing.
Starting your day making prospecting calls will also "create busy. Meaning, that things will begin to happen; Prospects will be returning your calls; You will be making appointments, doing three-way calls, sending prospects to your promotional material / website, etc., etc. It jumpstarts the whole day and makes the rest of the day active, productive and a lot more interesting.
The Value Of A Routine
The most successful people in HLN have a set routine for making prospecting calls. They make their calls at the same time, the same way everyday whether they feel like it or not. In most regular jobs or businesses don't we usually do things a certain way everyday? Why should it be different in HLN? If you set a routine for making prospecting calls and stick with it, success is guaranteed.
The Law Of Momentum
In the beginning of a prospecting program, it will take you ten units of effort to achieve one unit of results. As you continue to make calls and build momentum, it will only take you one unit of effort to achieve ten units of results.
Said another way, the more you do it, the easier it gets and the better the results.
The Law Of Large Numbers
There is no such thing as a bad prospecting call. Every call has monetary value in the long run. Keeping track of your prospecting efforts will allow you to look at your daily, weekly and monthly numbers, see what's working and what's not and make adjustments.
A simple tracking system is the health chart of your business. It will allow you to calculate the long-range monetary value of a single prospecting call, whether that person says yes to your proposal or not.
The Myth Of Rejection
That's the image most people have about prospecting, you have to get lots of rejections before you can achieve success. That’s not true, if you know what you’re doing. We fear the unknown. We assume that people don't like to receive prospecting calls , everybody will reject us. Again, not true.
Most people are relatively nice to network marketers when they call even if they are not interested in their offer. This of course, is provided that the person making the call gets right to the point and doesn't try to shove something down the prospect's throat. Rejection is almost never as often or as bad as people imagine
5.) Presentation/Handling Objections
Presentation
The best approach –Visit / Home meeting /Seminar
Before approaching any prospect for Presentation, determine which shall be the best way , A visit to prospect’s place, one of the regular Home meetings being conducted at your or your sponsor’s residence or a seminar being conducted.
Best time for presentation
If home meeting or a visit is required than we find out which day and time is suitable for the prospect where we can get undivided attention for our presentation.
Strategy -
Once the time and date is fixed, we must work out a strategy tailor made for that prospect on
•How to begin talk
•Proper knowledge of which products will suit or how our
compensation plan will give a solution for a prospect’s need.
•Products / Plan of competitors, if the prospect already has
experience of Direct Selling we should give time to learn
about other company’s products and plan.
Go fully prepared – All tools and aids
We must carry all the presentation material, tools, catalogs, business cards and product samples.
Present Products and Plan from a Prospects point of view
It is always recommended to avoid formula approach and adopt “Need Satisfaction” approach.
We get better results if we consider a prospects point of view in our presentation.
Focus on Merits of your products and plan
Focus should always be on merits of your plan and products rather than evaluating/criticizing other companies.
Spend time to get in-depth knowledge of Prospect’s state
It helps us to give solution to a prospect if we understand what exactly the prospect is expecting out of ourselves and the entire business proposition. Don’t ridicule or Be-little competitors
Ask questions leading to solution that you can provide.
We must ask questions which leads to situation where you and/or Company can provide a solution. E.g. Question about health, skin care, hair care, oral care and business education.
Elicit objections through hooks and / or questions
Objections are positive signs, if the prospect is not raising any than we should try to elicit through active conversation. This will help us to explore the prospects state of mind.
Always remain cool
Never ever loose your temper, be calm and stable irrespective of intentional or unintentional provocation.

Objections/Doubts Are Positive Signs
There is an age-old sales dilemma of overcoming objections. Every SYNERGY Consultant who is successful at selling products and recruiting others quickly learns how to deal with an objection by turning it to the customer's advantage. The key to successfully deal with objections, lies first in understanding why the prospect objects. Rather than seeking to overcome them, try and convert it into an “WIN-WIN” situation for all by following these techniques.
Listening Through Objections
It means that instead of overcoming objections by defending against them, you eliminate them by being open to them. You embrace them. You encourage the other person to bring them out in the open. And you do this by listening. Elicit objections through Hooks/Questions.
We should never deflect objections, to turn them back against the person, to prove with reason that the objection is false. And we may defeat the objection successfully. But this leaves in place the feelings associated with it. In fact, it increases the emotional charge. We “overcome” it with logic that we’ve made the other person wrong. We invalidate him or her and end up, in effect, calling the person a liar!
Objections Are Emotional
When we use logic to deal with an objection, you’ll fail nine out of 10 times. Why? Because 90 percent of all objections are emotional in nature. The argumentative approach of “overcoming objections” brings out a person’s defenses. The emotional component isn’t being honored. Its “life” is threatened. It fights back. When your logic overpowers it, it lies down and plays dead. And watch out! later, when you are gone and the threat is removed, it will spring back to life, more determined than ever!
This phenomenon is known as “having second thoughts,” and it’s responsible for the anxiety and doubt people experience after making a decision. Simply because they were not heard. What is it that wants to be heard? The emotion, the anger, frustration, disappointment, or fear. Until it is purged, there is no chance for the other person to make a complete choice about your offer. They simply cannot hear you. The emotional voice inside their head is too loud.
How You Lose By Trying To Win
You may win the “battle of words” when you overcome an objection, but you will never change the other person’s point of view. So another objection pops up, and then another, and another. “I don’t have time,” becomes, “I don’t have the money,” then, “I’m no good at selling,” and on it goes. The emotion simply takes a new form and it will keep doing so until it is heard and allowed to express itself.
You may even successfully “get” somebody to buy your product or sign the consultant application. But it won’t last. Merchandise will be returned...the product won’t work as they expected...or they’ll quit the business — they’ll find a good reason Network Marketing “doesn’t work” for them. There’s no commitment, because they haven’t truly been heard.
I believe, “Any relationship built on manipulation is doomed to fail.” It may take time, but you can’t count on it. Look at the number of talented, capable people who fail for no apparent reason.
Only when the emotion has exhausted itself by your listening through the objection will it dissolve and be eliminated. Only when the objection — the whole objection, not just its words, is expressed will the opportunity occur for your customer and/or prospect to arrive at making a committed choice.
6.) Navigate
Lead the Prospect for finalisation of deal and secure the business.
If the Prospects seeks time, take him to a “NEARER TO BUY” SITUATION
Keep in touch at right intervals. Don’t leave loose ends

Direct, Guide, And Navigate
You must as a Leader have a plan, a step by step trail, and direct your people down the HLN Power Path. You must guide them along the way to solve challenges, and navigate them through storms that do happen in this business and life. How? With your Networking support, coaching, caring, instructing, and believing. Remember, the North Star of your organization and compass for your people is your Leadership. Navigation requires knowing where you are, but also where you are headed, and how you are going to get there. The Last syllable in Navigate is Gate. You must provide the Gate to Success for others, it is up to them to open it and walk through.
Create Influence Through Ethics, Integrity, & Sincere
CaringThere is nothing more powerful and compelling than a Leader who cares more about his/her downline's earnings, than own earning. People are magnetized to it. And the influence that creates through the ethics that are needed to do it, is enormous. But as a Leader, you must always display ethics and integrity to maintain respect with your people. And sincere caring Leaders know, people don 't follow what you say, or what you do, as much as who you are.
Create An Environment Of Hope, Possibilities &
ExpectancyYou must create an environment that your downlines can grow and thrive in. An environment of hope and possibilities, and that the hope will be crystallized into Success. You must also create an environment of expectancy. HLN Leaders know that people usually rise to the level of their expectations. Believe and expect big things from your people. As oxygen is to a population, your belief is to your organization. Let your distributors "breathe the air of Success", in MLM, which gives life to every distributor, and creates an Incredibly Empowering environment.
Construct, Not Constrict
Leadership Is A Construction Project. First, you must build you, and construct the skills; attitudes, habits, and thinking you need to succeed in this business. Then you must build your people, through all we have been talking about in this chapter. And then you build your business. Most consultants constrict their business with a very limiting self-focus, and looking out for #1 attitude. The average person has a selfish focus. Leaders have a selfless focus.And that brings us to what we call "The Leadership Paradox". You must construct your business by building you first, downline second, and business third, but all at the same time.If you understand what I just said, you are on your way to building a retirement vehicle.
Build Relationships, Not Just Distributorships
What is the Secret to building A Multi Crore Business? You build Multi Crore Relationships.Remember that it is easier to walk away from a business than a friend. Get to know your folks, especially your Leaders as people, not just as downline. Get to know their dreams, what is important to them, and especially what they value. Spend personal time with your leaders, and develop that bond. Visit their house, their workplace, "Their world", and make it a part of yours.And always, always, always put their interests ahead of yours. That will create amazing loyalty, which will create amazing motivation, which will create amazing results.Get on a ship and sail on the sea of relating, and when people discover you are truly interested in them; that is when your business becomes truly interesting.
7.) Empower
As a Leader you have an incredible chance to Empower people, and change their life through HLN business. And the greatest way to Empower is to Believe in them. And through the Power of Encouragement, like "You can do it!" and the proper knowledge of how to do it, you will become their biggest supporter, and cheerleader. Believe and encourage your people...through Heart Power and the Fire of Belief.There is a magic moment in the sponsoring process when your prospect catches the vision and makes a decision to join the business. But, there is another magic moment, one even more important. This happens when your new distributor really understands how he can make his dreams come true with HLN.If people drop out, it’s usually because this second magic moment was never reached. What happened was your downline had second thoughts. Those big cheques, free cars and trips sounded wonderful . . . for you. But your downline just didn’t relate to how he/she could get those things for self. Unless you show how he/she can reach his dreams through your system, he/she won’t have the frame of mind to persevere through the challenges and reach success. If you make this connection, you will retain a consultant forever.
Empower Everyone Through Belief, Knowledge, & Encouragement
To turn fantasies into dreams, and dreams into commitment, your dreams must be stronger than your fears! Motivation, positive thinking and hype will only last a while. Unless your downline has a believable, logical plan for attaining his/her dreams, the fear will take control. The same holds true for you, too. Leaders are a lighthouse in a sea of adversity in business.
Be out In The Front Not Stuck In The Back
Being out in front also means doing what your teaching them and setting the example. You must understand, your downline quietly watch you, and observe. You will never know it, but they are watching to see if you practice what you are preaching. If you are not, they will quietly duplicate what you are doing. Show them the way, and lead them through what we call fog of doubt, frustration, and discouragement. You do that by leading them through the fog with your light of Leadership
Once you know how to empower people, how to motivate and inspire them, they will want to work with you. Your ability to enlist the knowledge, energy and resources of others enables you to become a multiplication sign, to leverage yourself so that you accomplish far more than the average person and in a far shorter period of time.
Empower means “putting power into,” and it can also mean “bringing energy and enthusiasm out of.”
The deepest need that each person has is for self-esteem, a sense of being important, valuable, and worthwhile. Everything that you do in your interactions with others affects their self-esteem in some way. Give them what you would like for yourself.
Perhaps the simplest way to make another person feel good about himself or herself is your continuous expressions of appreciation for everything that person does for you, large or small. Say “thank you” on every occasion. The more you thank other people for doing things for you, the more things those other people will want to do.
